Who I am Introduction
The reason why I created this pages was to help me in the future when I have to write my personal statement for colleges.This was a practice personal statement to demonstrate of how difficult or easy it can be for some of us. This was an activity where I had to describe what make me stand out than the other student. This essay also gave me the advantage to write who I am and what make me different than other student. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mandala Statement
Hello my name is Tracy Rojas. Who am I ? Well that is a really good question, I will try to explained who I’m really am, through the mandala I created. After visualizing some of the most significant and important memories, people, and event from my life I then assembled a group of picture that might create a picture in your head. I hope when you see my picture’s you will get an idea of who I’m really am.
The picture in the center was taken on January, during the winter. It was the first time we had gotten a Husky as a dog. We have, had other dogs, but this one was different. What was that made it different? Was it because of her fur, or was it because of her eye, or is it just because it was a pup. There are millions reason why this dog was different. However, when we got her we decided to named her Maya because during Christmas we saw this movie called Eight Below and one of the Huskies that was in the movie look like her so we decided to named her Maya.
Another important day was when I turned 15. The reason why it was an important day for me,because it was day where I was the center of attention. Everyone focus on me. I was the one everyone care about. It was a whole day dedicated to me. I felt like If, as I were a superstar, someone who was famous or important. Although i was the center of attention ,the best thing about that day that I was spending it with all my family that i know of and care about. I was spending the best night with them and I wouldn’t change anything about it. And it is a memories that i am going to have for the rest of my life.
One of my favorite location was when i went camping to lake isabella with my family and cousin. It was a 3 day camping. The reason why i enjoyed going camping was because we were isolated from technology. I know what you're thinking “what alway from technology, Not possible”. Well yeah we spent three day without technology, and the main reasoned why, was because there weren’t no reception where we were staying. Although we had no electronic with us we were still able to have fun. The reason why we like to come camping is to spend time with our family. We isolated our self from the world we live on. We leave all our problem at home and forget everything we usually do. And we come to this place and have fun and forget about school, or bill, or anything elses that usually keep us in touch with the real word. i guess what i’m trying to say is that actually enjoyed going camping. We had a chance to tell story and we really connected well.Going camping made my family and me forget about bigger issues and just have fun. It was like our personal world where we didn’t have to worry about anything.
Another place was going to Disney Land. Everybody goes to Disneyland and one point of your life. When we went with our family, It was a very exciting day because it was our first time going. So we had this anxiety of what was going to happen and how it look like it from the inside. We had so many question at least from what I remembered. I remembered when i got on my first ride I was crying, but not because I was scared or anything like that, i was crying because I was riding on a big ride with my older sister and it seem fun.i also remembered when it was time to go, i wasn’t sad because i know i got the best memories from this place and i wouldn’t change them for anything.
One of the closest peoples, is my family overall. I feel like I can really come to them with any problem and they will help me. Not a lot of people can say that there parent are the closest thing to them. I’m glad that i can say that my parent are the closest thing to me because i trust them. And i know that it better to come to your parent than anyone else because the problem that you have will stay between your family or parents.
A
difficult situation that i dealt with is witnessing one of my dog
accident. The way it happen was when I decided to go check the mail one
day and i accidently left the door open, a car accidently ran her over
twice. But the car didn’t see the dog, so I didn’t blame them.When I saw
her on the ground, I ran to get her but i knew that the moment i held
her, I knew there were no way she was going to live. I blamed myself for
her death. I always go back and tell myself if i would have closed my
door then maybe she would still be here. Or maybe if I wouldn’t had
checked the mail she would still be here. As you can tell i’m a dog
lover. But going back to the topic, I later came to realize that life is
funny, and some time thing happen for a reason. Like for instance this
August when I woke up I saw a dog inside my house. We didn’t buy her
someone gave it to us. Who gave it to us, I have no idea.
My
journey is like a bumpy road. there the up and down of my road. i guess
it all depend whether you're having a good or a bad day. i always try
to have a good day and maintain that positive energy. I alway like to
spread that positive vibe with friend and teacher by complimenting them
or just mentioning how awesome it is to see them.

Life Journey Poem
The journey being describe in this poem is about a girl who is born believing that the world was a nice place. As soon as she began to grow up, she realize that the world isn't what she thought it was. She realize that in order to succeed in this world she has to become someone in life . Once she knew what she wanted to be she decided to devote herself toward her goals.The theme is that life isn’t that easy. My interpretation that I’m trying to communicate to the audience is that you don’t have to be afraid of life if you still don’t know what you want to become in the future.
The poem is mostly figurative language. Some figurative language I used, is personification when I mentioned “that the world was cruel.” The reason I said that the world was cruel was to show how in order to survive in this world, we must get an education and choose a path.The reason why I prefer to use figurative language to describe my journey because you're able to make the reader see what I see. The fact that many of us grow up without having aspiration of becoming someone important in life. Many of us believed that life look easy but it not the same when you are living in it. It also make the poem seem more interesting. Therefore it capture the reader eye.
The attribute of glogster help enhance a deeper meaning of my poem by being able to chose a background that would tie in to my poem. It also provided a variety of option like being able to attach a soundtrack that will also enhance my poem. I feel like Glogster help me accomplish a deeper and more meaningful.
Summary
What I got from this activity is the idea of who I am and what made me be who I am today. This made me realize that there are a lot of thing that make me who I am today. These were important thing like my family and friend that help create a part of who I am today. Which I never cross my mind to talk about them in my personal statement.
